On Feb. 25, 2014, the Holy Father, Pope Francis, issued a Letter to Families. In the letter, Pope Francis says he wants to “come into [y]our homes to speak about an event which will take place at the Vatican this coming October,” which is the Extraordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops. The letter is available on the Vatican website in several languages. Our Holy Father encourages families to receive Jesus’ authentic love into our families, “In your journey as a family, you share so many beautiful moments: meals, rest, housework, leisure, prayer, trips and pilgrimages, and times of mutual support… Nevertheless, if there is no love then there is no joy, and authentic love comes to us from Jesus. He offers us his word, which illuminates our path; he gives us the Bread of life which sustains us on our journey.”

Getting a Texas Driver’s License is a special event in the lives of young people.
St. Joseph Parish will celebrate this special time as an acknowledgment of our teens’ growth and increased responsibility.
We will offer a blessing for all young drivers on Saturday August 30 and Sunday August 31.
We have offered this blessing annually since 2005.
ALL TEENAGE DRIVERS are invited to participate in this blessing. It will only be for those receiving their temporary or permanent driver’s license in the past year.
After Communion, at all the Masses August 30-31, including the 5:30pm Sunday Mass all teenage drivers will be called forward for their blessing by Msgr. McCaffrey.
