St. Joseph Eagle’s Nest opened its doors on June 1, 2001 to fill a need perceived by Monsignor John McCaffrey for a full time quality childcare facility and Pre-K program. It quickly grew from six children to sixty children, and this year enrollment has soared to 270. We have grown from two rooms in the Parish Activity Center to two campuses, one at 109 North Preston, and one at 600 South Coulter. Our facility is one of only a few in the Brazos Valley to offer a Pre-Toddler class for a child’s transition from infant to toddler.
Because of our commitment to excellence and dedication to God’s children, all of our teachers have experience in childcare, and our Pre-K teachers hold teaching certificates in this field. Over the last decade, we have added many programs. We began with, and still maintain, a strong academic curriculum and extracurricular activities. Through Brazos Valley Gymnastics we offer Acrobus tumbling classes, and through MCM Studios we offer dance classes. Our program has evolved to include American Sign Language, Spanish, and in August of 2006 we began to offer Math and Science Enrichment to our three year old and Pre-K programs in a room designed specifically for children with minds that are ready to discover and explore. Intellectual, as well as spiritual growth, are essential parts of a Catholic education. The three and four year olds attend chapel weekly, our four year olds attend mass weekly and on holy days of obligation, and all children at St. Joseph Eagle’s Nest begin learning Catholic prayers as pre-toddlers.
The mission of St. Joseph Eagle’s Nest is to educate children in a Christ-centered, nurturing environment, with an emphasis on Catholic teachings and traditions, where children are encouraged to learn and be creative.
